Homeschooling KG and Gr6?

I am considering homeschooling my KG and Gr6 boys? I have a 4 month old baby at home. I have a good relationship with the boys, and they work great one-on-one with me when I help them with homework. They can be very hyper at school and are not so great at paying attention, and because of this aren't doing as well as they could. I would like to hear from anyone homeschooling and their experiences, positive or negative. I'm considering that it will be an uphill struggle at the beginning but once we're in the routine it should be pretty straightforward. There are some places that offer the resources and ignments for the kids and they complete them and send them back to the teachers for marking - then the other approach is for completely parent led teaching - which is better, easier to fulfill? We live in Alberta, Canada.
