Is it ok for Christians to celebrate Hanukkah?

Ok well I'm a christian but im not about the whole Santa Claus and Christmas tree thing, Plus Christmas isn't the actually birth of the Messiah. I hear that people say oh you can't celebrate Hanukkah it isn't your birth right your not a Jew. I figure look the Messiah was a Jew so why can't I celebrate a Miracle of God that's important regardless if I'm not a Jew. Or is it because I believe in the Messiah I can't celebrate Hanukkah.
