Pianist - Clical Music as a Career?

My son's goal is to be a clical pianist, Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, along with another job, of course. This is a hard road, but he loves the clics !! Anyone been there, done that. Age 14 Grade 9-10 RCM music with theory. PS. Don't talk about completing ARCT etc., which he'll do.
